Overview

We don’t like to limit you guys, and that’s why our Bing integration lets you search the web for pretty much anything, as well as LinkedIn and XING for company or person profiles.

Functions

Function Description
CUSTOM_SEARCH_BING Get results from your Bing Custom Search instance.
ENTITY_SEARCH_BING Get info about people, places, and things from Bing.
SEARCH_BING Get search results from Bing.
SEARCH_LINKEDIN_COMPANY_BING Find a company on LinkedIn using Bing.
SEARCH_LINKEDIN_PERSON_BING Find people on LinkedIn using Bing.
SEARCH_XING_COMPANY_BING Find a company on XING using Bing.
SEARCH_XING_PERSON_BING Find people on XING using Bing.

CUSTOM_SEARCH_BING

Use CUSTOM_SEARCH_BING to perform searches in using your Bing Custom Search Instance. It’ll return as many results as is possible within dashdash’s cell limits.

Syntax

CUSTOM_SEARCH_BING(query, instanceID)

Parameter Mandatory Description
query Yes One or more search terms. For example: "Microsoft Teams".
instanceID Yes Unique identifier for your custom search instance, that is, the Custom Configuration ID.

Examples

To find all articles relating to Apple Numbers using a Custom Search Instance with an ID of e******************************3:

=CUSTOM_SEARCH_BING("Apple Numbers","e******************************3")

ENTITY_SEARCH_BING

Use ENTITY_SEARCH_BING to perform an Entity Search using the Bing Entity Search API. You’ll get up to 10 of the most relevant results in the response.

Syntax

ENTITY_SEARCH_BING(query, [location])

Parameter Mandatory Description
query Yes One or more search terms. For example: "Microsoft Teams".
location No The market you want to search. Must be in language code-country format. For example: "en-US" (default).

Examples

To perform an entity search for Gandhi, limited to the en-US market:

=ENTITY_SEARCH_BING("Gandhi","en-US")

SEARCH_BING

Use SEARCH_BING to perform searches using the Bing search engine. You’ll get the top 10 most relevant results in the response.

Syntax

SEARCH_BING(query, [freshness])

Parameter Mandatory Description
query Yes One or more search terms. For example: "Microsoft Teams".
freshness No From when to return results. Choose either:
- "Day" for the last 24 hours n
- "Week" for the last weekn
- "Month"for the last month

Examples

To search for anything published about the iPad Air 2020 in the last Day:

=SEARCH_BING("iPad Air 2020","Day")

SEARCH_LINKEDIN_COMPANY_BING

GUse SEARCH_LINKEDIN_COMPANY_BING to find the 10 most relevant company profiles on LinkedIn according to your query.

SEARCH_LINKEDIN_COMPANY_BING(query)

query Yes The company you’re looking for. For example: "Apple".
