Automation in dashdash tutorial series

Hey there! And welcome to our new tutorial series, focusing on how to use dashdash’s automation functions. One of the biggest benefits of using dashdash is just how easy it is for anyone to automate their spreadsheets using our custom functions :alarm_clock:.

But, as intuitive as they are, sometimes it helps to have you need a bit of guidance to nudge you in the right direction - and to be a true dashdash master, you definitely need to know the ins and outs of our automation functions. Here’s the rundown of what we’ll cover in this four-part series over the next few days:

Part 1: Automate data with INSERT_DATA(), OVERWRITE_DATA(), and UPDATE_DATA()

In part one, we’ll quickly go over our most used functions to retrieve data from JSON responses.

Part 2: Automate spreadsheets with REFRESH(), REPEAT(), and SCHEDULE()

In part two, we’ll have a look at how you can automate cell executions using our REFRESH(), REPEAT(), and SCHEDULE()functions.

Part 3: Create tables from other tables with INSERT(), OVERWRITE(), and UPDATE()

In part three, we’ll take a look at INSERT(), OVERWRITE(), and UPDATE() and see how we can use them to update information in one table, from another (or even from a dashdash app!).

Part 4: Simplify with CLEAR(), FILL(), and SUBSTITUTE()

In the last part of our series, we’ll see how to use CLEAR(), FILL(), and SUBSTITUTE() to do some great spreadsheet manipulation, as well as further your knowledge on how to modify strings to get exactly what you need.

Right, let’s unlock the magic :tophat: and power :muscle: of dashdash’s automation!
